Python Rock – Short Walks during your Lamington National Park Holiday
Start with a couple of teaser walks: Python Rock is approx 1 km before the O’Reillys Rainforest Retreat on the right. The return walk is 3.4km and is an easy grade for young and old alike, suitable, with assistance, for wheelchairs.
The rainforest community from huge figs to tiny lichen give way to open forest of New England Blackbutt near the West Cliff turn off. The view from Python Rock overlooks Castle Crag to the Lost World with Mount Throakban on the left and the beautiful Moran’s Falls.

Moran’s Falls – Short Walks during your Lamington National Park Holiday
Moran’s Falls is classed as a moderate grade, 4.4km return track, as with most tracks, an early morning stroll will be rewarded with rich sightings of birdlife. Cross one of its tributaries and be rewarded with an outlook across Moran’s Gorge.

Treetop Walk – Short Walks during your Lamington National Park Holiday
Publicly funded, the Treetop Walk is 180m, comprised of 9 suspension spans, its centerpiece is a huge fig, which you can climb to a viewing platform. From here experience amazing views of Lamington National Park, the Scenic Rim and the Great Dividing Range beyond.
Walk amongst the canopy where you can observe epiphytic plants including enormous crows nest ferns and flowering orchids. Birds enjoy the fruits of the trees at eye level! 15metres at its highest point from the forest floor – this is a must do when visiting the Green Mountains section of Lamington National Park.
The Tree top walk or Canopy Walk can be accessed via the Booyong track, a boardwalk track created by the Lamington Natural History Association. Logrunners, amongst other birds flit ahead of you as you walk. Visit the Botanical Garden amongst the rainforest whilst there. Make a gold coin donation to help the maintenance of this volunteer maintained garden.
