Springbrook accommodation alternative: Wallaby Ridge Retreat

Springbrook accommodation : your options can include Wallaby Ridge Retreat.

Just a picturesque drive either via Beechmont or via Clagiraba, enjoy the stunning views to the east of the Gold Coast City skyline including the impressive Q1 resort in Surfers Paradise. Q1 has an amazing viewing platform at the top you can visit.

Wallaby Ridge is offers 3 very affordable suites, cosy and quiet with amazing mountain views of the Great Dividing Range.

Perfect alternative for Springbrook Accommodation

Wallaby Ridge Retreat as a Springbrook accommodation alternative means you can have an opportunity explore not only Springbrook National park, but Heritage listed Lamington National Park either the Beechmont (or Binna Burra) section or the Green Mountains (commonly referred to as O’Reilly’s), Tamborine National Park and the green space between! Our location offers the opportunity to mountain hop to several of these areas. We recommend a few days stay (check out our Gold Coast Hinterland accommodation specials) and use our comfortable and affordable accommodation near Canungra as a base. Canungra has country town charm with a chemist, supermarket and more. More on Canungra another time!

Springbrook Accommodation problem solved: Now, what to see!

There are distinct differences with the Gondwana Rainforest meeting Tropical Rainforest in this unique part of the Scenic Rim and Gold Coast Hinterland. Gondwana is the unique ancient forest including ancient antarctic Beech trees a remenant species from the last ice age. The unique terrain created by an ancient volcano (the remaining plug called Mt Warning) has shaped and molded the earth and created amazing microclimates and vegetation variations. The combination of these natural phenomena has been recognised by Tourism Australia as “The Green Cauldron”. More on this soon.

The Best of All Lookout at Springbrook National Park is a wonderful vista of dramatic, elevated escarpements and views to the Gold Coast beyond. A great little picnic area closeby with covered seating provides a protected setting for a lunch or picnic. We can provide you with walking maps on arrival, just ask. Being a rainforest, be prepared – when visiting Springbrook accommodation  providers Wallaby Ridge Retreat have personal insect repellent and rain ponchos if required. Take water and hiking shoes, hat and sunscreen. Always be prepared when bushwalking and let someone know where you are going and how long you expect to be.

Springbrook accommodation providers Wallaby Ridge Retreat recommend a visit to the Glow Worm Caves at Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard rather than the cave at Numinbah Valley or Natural Arch, often a popular haunt for tourists and tour groups. We love the Natural Arch glow worms at Springbrook too, but with up to 300 visitors a night, so much care has to be taken to protect their fragile environment, . This is why we recommend the Tamborine Mountain Glow Worm Caves at Cedar Creek Estate Vineyard and Winery. There is more on this in our next blog.
