Frequently Asked Questions


  • Do you have a restaurant?

    No, we have a menu available for our home cooked meals and happy to provide these at the time of your choice, please request a menu on booking! We have a BBQ and can supply pre-ordered BBQ packs including home grown salad and home made bread and potato wedges. The Canungra Hotel is 10 minutes away by car (courtesy service Weekends). A selection lovely restaurants on Tamborine Mountain, 25 mins or Beaudesert for lovely Italian or Chinese 20mins.

  • Do you take children?

    Our Retreat is designed for couples and the suites are designed as such but with group bookings with exclusive use of the retreat we allow children. We can  recommend family accomodation close by.

  • Do you accept pets?

    No, sorry.

  • What time can we arrive?

    Check in is 2pm onwards. We try to accommodate all timing requests, but politeness would be to contact us first to see if early check in is possible, sometimes its just not possible to have a suite ready before 2pm from a previous occupant. We suggest booking the previous night as well, then there’s no rush, particularly if you have a function to attend.

  • Do you cater for vegetarians, coeliacs and allergy suffers?

    We pride ourselves on being able to offer alternatives for special dietary requirements, just a bit of notice is required.

  • Do you mind visitors?

    We require notice of any visitors, as its a matter of consideration for other guests, plus safety, security and insurance… and… its just the polite thing to do if you are staying in someone elses home.

  • What is the difference between self-rated and star rated?

    Each year AAA Tourism runs property assesments and gives points for facilities, quality and cleanliness. You know with our four star accommodation there will be a high level of all those things. Self rating means nothing and it is, frankly, just the operators opinion of themselves if they self-rate.

  • Is there an oven in the suite?

    No, we have spare slow cookers and electric frypans if you require them. There is a microwave and 2 hot plate cooktop in each suite.

  • Are the suites heated?

    We have individually controlled reverse cycle airconditioning and the common lounge has a combustion wood heater.

  • Is breakfast included?

    Yes, we supply a “breakfast basket” which includes all goodies required for a continental and a cooked breakfast including home baked bread, cereals, home made muesli, eggs from our happy chooks, bacon, sausages, tomatos, juice, milk, yogurt, butter and condiments and home made preserves. We have kept our cookable ingredients simple for ease of preparation by yourself. This is topped up daily for the duration of your stay. You have the option and flexibility to eat what you want, when you want, at a time that is convenient to you. If you have special requests (also, see dietary requirements above), please discuss them with us upon booking, we are happy to help.

    We do offer a cooked breakfast option for groups of friends and relatives who can relax at our large dining table and enjoy each others company.
